The antiscia between Mars and Uranus mid-month is far from reassuring given the  "Fukushima operator TEPCO is getting ready for its toughest and most dangerous clean-up operation. In November it will try to remove 400 tons of spent fuel from plant’s Reactor No. 4. But even a little mistake may result in a new nuclear disaster." 

Of note, and not the most soothing addition, Saturn comes to the cardinal axis (15 degrees Scorpio) just days before the Mars Uranus antiscion. The Sun will conjunct Saturn on November 6th at 14°15 Scorpio, essentially kicking off Saturn's arrival on to the world's stage.

In The Combination of Stellar Influences, Reinhold Ebertin states: "Energy concentrated on separation, a heavy injury, an operation, violent destruction."

Noel Tyl, in Predictions in Astrology, offers: "A clash between controls and the freest spirit; potential battles and separations; controls can not be tolerated."  


Also relevant: Neptune stations mid-month (Nov 13) at 2°34 Pisces. 

 

And what to make of the Full Moon occurring November 17th at 25°26 Taurus? This is the projected ecliptic degree of the notoriously feared fixed star, Algol. Last May, Algol was activated on a solar eclipse/New Moon by paran. In a post then, I noted, Algol is known by other names too. According to Bernadette Brady in her book "Star and Planet Combinations," Ras al Ghul, a name given by the Arabs, means "the Head of the Demon, and they considered this demon to be the wife of the Devil." Tseih She, is the name given by the Chinese, meaning "Piled-up Corpses."...

What's especially meaningful about this star and the timing of this lunation, given what's been noted above, is the declination for Algol is +40.57' which is the latitude for northern parts of Japan. The star's latitude runs through Japan (as well as many other countries with the above mentioned latitude). However, at the time of the first Fukushima nuclear accident in 2011 the star was quite activated. I will write more about this in a later post...

A contrary to sect Mars advancing on the local midheaven, Neptune Chiron on nadir, and the Sun and Moon, as astrologer Patrick Watson noted, are besieged by malefics.  [Reiterative]

On the 90 degree dial it is easier to see the Uranus Pluto square in a nearly exact half square (45) to the Washington DC ascendant.  

 


Also running with UR PL, is Hades / Zeus to the Ascendant. As is: Venus / Jupiter and Mercury Node / Mars.

Not a whole lot going on per antiscia this month. However, there is a potent grand trine occurring in WATER on July 15, 16, 17 which happens along with a Uranus station (retrograde @ 12'31 Aries). The Moon comes to (and activates) this triangular matrix between Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune on July 16 at 4:00pm (PDT) ~ deep breath for a deep dive. There is also an extraordinary grand sextile happening later in the month! Charts below.

Moon joins Saturn @ 4'52 Scorpio - activating the grand trine configuration between Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune.

The chart above is set for Washington DC. Note when the Moon comes to Saturn in Scorpio, in the eleventh whole sign house from the Ascendant, the Moon is very near its deepest point of debilitation (03 Scorpio) and the out of sect malefic Mars (meaning the more difficult hard working planet in a daytime chart) is also debilitated (in Cancer) and is setting on the Descendant. There we also find an exalted Jupiter (thankfully) and retrograde Mercury (of interest). Pluto in Capricorn is rising. Neptune in Pisces in the third house is connected by trine to both Saturn and Jupiter. And the Lot of fortune is positioned in the fourth whole sign house with a stationing retrograde Uranus. Venus in Leo "sees" (aspects by strong sextile) the Midheaven in Libra, a place where Venus has dignity; that's nice.
Will be interesting to see what manifests. 

Addendum: There is a march planned for Tuesday (a day ruled by Mars) July 16 in Tallahassee Florida to protest the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the killing of Trayvon Martin. 

"...Phillip Agnew, executive director of Dream Defenders, a coalition of young people of color in Florida formed after Martin’s death. They have called for a "Takeover Tuesday" protest in Florida’s capital of Tallahassee on July 16. "I think we need to look at the environment that created a situation that grew a George Zimmerman and snuffed out a Trayvon Martin," Agnew says. "The fact is, our society programs people to be afraid of young people — young people of color specifically."

A very rare and spectacular grand sextile! 

This grand sextile on July 29 is made up of the Moon, Jupiter, Mars (+ Mercury), Venus, Saturn, Pluto, and Neptune and has offshoots to both the Sun and Uranus  - which means every planet is in attendance. It's party time, for better or worse. Though at least this time around both the Sun and Moon are dignified (Sun rules Leo and Moon is exalted in Taurus - unlike the chart above with a highly debilitated Moon). The fixed square also shares more sympathy than some as they're connected by antiscia (by sign), the square to a void Uranus is where we find  potential for disruption and upset.

All contra-antiscia this month, and Jupiter|Pluto (a combination of "great change and transformation") remains on the axis...  This planetary pair may be quite fruitful for you, if you have natal planets or angles at zero cardinal, 29 degrees mutable (or 15 fixed), or if you have personal points in antiscia/contra-antiscia. Beware however of going to extremes; fanaticism and excess are the dark side of the expression.

Happy New Year!
The first day of 2013 finds Venus Pluto in antiscion. In Reinhold Ebertin's classic text, The Combination of Stellar Influences, keywords for Venus Pluto include: "Fanatic love, the desire for sensual pleasure, lasciviousness" as well as "A strong feeling of love... an unusual measure of procreative power, a special artistic giftedness". These planets (falling in Sagittarius and Capricorn respectively) are active for everyone on this day - and have to do with the development (Pluto) of love, harmony, hope, and creativity (Venus). There's a flurry of antiscional activity mid-month when the Sun and Pluto meet-up in antiscia at the same time Mars comes to the contra-antiscion of Jupiter; this occurs December 11th to 14th (with Uranus stationing direct on the 13th). Note the Mercury/Pluto antiscion on December 24/25th.

Planets in antiscia and contra-antiscia reflect one another across the cardinal axis. They have been recognized to show sympathy and connection for at least two thousand years. Every planet at any given time has a shadow-point reflected across the axis, when another planet moves into the domain of this shadow a connection is established. This connection creates a planetary pair, with the Aries Point (which is any of the zero degree points of the cardinal signs) at the midpoint. These planetary pairs provide insight into the energy of the day, as well as enhancing delineation of a natal chart.

The cardinal axis (Aries Point) is essentially the Node of the Sun. It is through this point that each one of us connects to the world, and so it is a point we all share.

This month things may get a bit squirrelly around the 14/15th when the Sun comes to the direct antiscia of Uranus - at the same time picking up Pluto by 45 - where Mars rests at their exact midpoint. Sun + Uranus|Pluto = Mars @ 15 Scorpio. 

On the 90 degree dial, the combination looks like this: 

I assume it has to do with the presidency since the TNP Kronos, a symbol of ruling powers, great height, and government, is tied in with the ongoing Uranus Pluto revolutionary square aspect. Sun|Kronos classically represents the president. 

Hmmm...

Following the intense Sun Uranus Pluto Mars business, we will see a return of the antiscia of Saturn|Neptune. This combination lingered on the cardinal axis for a long time earlier this year (late January through early April 2012). Expect issues important then to be very up again.

The sociological correspondence and probable manifestations of Saturn|Neptune per Reinhold Ebertin's often depressing work, The Combination of Stellar Influences, says:

Poor, sick or depressed persons.

+ The methodical execution of plans, the slow attainment of success through intense activity and great painstaking effort.

- Painful or tormenting inhibitions, undermining circumstances also leading to a state of illness, neuroses or diseases with causes difficult to ascertain.

After a little summer break, the list of monthly antiscia is back! 

Antiscia and contra-antiscia have been recognized and used for 2,000 years as a way to show connection and sympathy between planets and signs. Planets in antiscia reflect or mirror one another across the cardinal axis. Favored by Uranians, and used by Hellenistic, Persian, Medieval, and modern tropical astrologers in the know, these perfectly symmetrical arrangements, falling equidistant from any of the four zero cardinal points (0 Cancer/Capricorn and 0 Aries/Libra), add insight in both natal and mundane chart delineation. Antiscia is another factor to consider when tracking or contemplating the energies (or astrological weather) of a point in time.

The cardinal axis marks the turning of the seasons at the solstice and equinox. Sometimes referred to simply as the Aries Point, the cardinal axis is important because everything on earth is affected by seasonal change, it is through this point that each one of us connects to the world.
